COLOUR SWATCH AND KEYWORD

RED-PATTERN

Here is the image I did for my chosen word pattern.

I piled cushions that were red onto the floor for this photo. This photograph has some element of being textural too. The natural light coming from the right of the image emphasises the textural qualities even more. There are multiple patterns in the composition but it isn't to busy.

RED- VISCERAL

When I got my word visceral I didn't have a clue what it meant so I researched the word. It came up with something to do with organs and  I realised straight away there must have been some other definition. When I looked again I saw it meant inward feeling/ emotion. Therefore I thought one way to record emotion is through capturing peoples body language. Here is my result...

In this image I have photographed my sister whilst sitting on a sofa. I thought that this would be a good opportunity to record her feelings at that moment in time. To make this image slightly red I added a neon red effect to it on picnik.com. To improve this image I think I would crop it to focus on the eyes and face expressions of the person, this would emphasis the idea of visceral.

So here is the crop...

The sheltered position of the person is emphasised now I have cropped my photo. We also get added effect from the eye showing, we couldn't really see the eye as well in the non- cropped image.

RED- TEXTURE

I have dropped out the background in this photo using a small depth of field to make the viewer focus on the red tennis ball and its textural qualities. I could emhasis the texture more if I was to introduce more light and crop the top green background. If I take this image further I will do this.
